Essential Job Duties and Requirements Include, but are not limited to, the below.

Reporting to the CPO and indirectly to the CFO, the Administrative Assistant/Client Coordinator is a full time position that has primary responsibility for all aspects of ABVI’s client services and office management. The position is specifically responsible for:

Client Service Responsibilities

  • Field calls for assistance and refer to appropriate resource such as: South Carolina Commission for the Blind, SC Works, eye care professionals and other health care agencies/resources
  • Client intake including input into Apricot
  • Updating Apricot/keeping it current with new client information
  • Client scheduling (Individual Service Plans) with ABVI staff and external ABVI instructors and professionals
  • Client communications, correspondence and mailings (including applications)
  • Client entrance and exit surveys

Office Management Responsibilities

  • Answer phones at the front desk (help desk)
  • Office filing
  • Vendor relations (i.e. fire alarm company, maintenance needs, pest control, printer company, etc.)
  • Distributing the mail
  • Ordering supplies
  • Act as receptionist, greet and help clients and guests daily
  • Help with Bloomerang (and/or Raiser’s Edge) entries when necessary
  • Distribute Tel-A-Ride and Tri-County Link tickets to class participants
  • Attend and represent ABVI at community fairs, awareness events and other events/socials as required
  • Relay any positive or negative comments, suggestions, complaints or concerns from clients regarding programs, etc. to CPO in a timely manner to allow for a proper and immediate appropriate response
  • Identify local funding sources when appropriate
  • Develop, nurture and maintain a professional relationship with clients, community agencies, program instructors, volunteers and the community-at-large
