Nera, A Blind Dining Experience

The Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired SC (ABVI) is thrilled to unveil Nera, the newest addition to our blind dining event series. This is the sister experience to our signature event, Noir, and supports the critical vision rehabilitation services we provide. What sets Nera and Noir apart from other galas is that we ask our guests to wear eye masks and enjoy the main course of their meal without relying on their vision. This unique element gives everyone a glimpse into the struggles that our clients must overcome on a daily basis. It is rare that you truly get to experience an organization’s mission at an event, however, our guests at Nera do just that. Held at the historic Poinsett Club, this unforgettable evening includes a premium cocktail hour, a blindfolded multi-course dinner with wine service, an auction, and a meaningful opportunity to support our mission through Fund-a-Need. Proceeds benefit ABVI’s vision rehabilitation programs, which have empowered individuals who are blind or visually impaired across South Carolina for nearly 90 years.
