Charleston County: CARTA Tel-A-Ride
Tel-A-Ride, a public transportation option, is for Charleston County residents who cannot travel without assistance or have mobility challenges that prevent them from getting to and from bus stops. Tel-A-Ride serves all of the Charleston peninsula as well as portions of James Island, West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms and North Charleston. You must complete an application to be considered for Tel-A-Ride.
TriCounty Link (Berkeley, Charleston & Dorchester Counties)
TriCounty Link is a public transportation option that serves Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties. If an individual has a disability or condition that prevents them from using the TriCounty Link flag-stop bus system, they can apply to be considered for ADA Deviated Link Service.
Midlands
Dial-A-Ride Transit or “DART” is reserved for qualifying persons with a disability unable to board The COMET buses or access a bus stop due to their disability as defined by three categories in the ADA.
Upstate
Greenville Area Paratransit or “GAP” is an ADA paratransit service provided for individuals who, because of their disabilities, are unable to use Greenlink’s fixed route bus and trolley service. GAP provides comparable service to the regular fixed route bus and trolley in terms of shared rides, origin-to-destination pickup, service area, and hours and days of service.
